August Athlete of The Month – Edward

By: 0

Let’s hear it for this month’s athlete of the month… Edward!!

Edward holds a special place in our heart as he holds the official title as 2024’s “O.G.”, which he proudly references himself as often (and we love it!) He had tried CrossFit once before, met pukie and didn’t try it again until we opened our doors. He walked over from his office and said, “Well, I don’t have any excuses anymore now that you guys have opened up so close to me. Sign me up!” And like you’ve heard the saying before, “and the rest was history!” Every day we have had Edward in the box and gotten to do life alongside of him, has been a genuine blessing for us.

Besides the fact that Edward is just one of the sweetest humans beings we’ve ever met before, he has an unwavering determination within him that often flies under the radar. He without a doubt has one of the busiest schedules we’ve ever seen someone maintaining (being a co-owner of a multi-site business, is on numerous boards around the city of Austin, partners alongside multiple non-profits on a monthly basis, is a national skeeball champion {yes that’s totally a thing!}, is the handler for a famous therapy pup who often has interviews and events he needs to be a part of… just to name off a few things on his plate). Regardless of how hectic, busy and tiring life can get for Edward, which can happen to us all at times, he never lets his commitment to his health and fitness flounder. He has his mind set on long term goals, knows that it takes work, discipline, sacrifice, and is enjoying the journey along the way while seeing all of his hardworking pay off!

Coach Jamie had this to say about Edward, “I can’t tell you how much we LOVE Edward and LOVE having him in our classes! He is such a big part of this family and everyone just loves him. He is an amazing person, has always been coachable, respectful, keeps open communication with the staff and trusts the process. I couldn’t even begin to express our appreciation for him as an athlete, a competitor, a friend, a local business owner, and a person! I have been so honored to have seen Edward’s progress since we first opened our doors. He always wants to improve and make progress each time he comes in, even if it’s in doses of small victories. Trust me, we enjoy seeing his big victories too, but he knows it’s a long term journey. Did you know that he had never meal-prepped once before he began CrossFit and since then has been consistently preparing beautiful meals for his family, friends and loved ones? It’s amazing! I have been so honored to have been a small part in his amazing journey and it’s just getting started! I can’t wait to see all of his future milestones unfold before us while we continue to champion him on towards his goals. We love you Edward. Keep up the fantastic work!”
