July 2021 Athlete of the Month- Mary
Let’s hear it for our July AOTM…. Mary!!!
Mary jump started her CrossFit journey 10 months ago at our beloved box. She realized the importance of her health after COVID and took intentional steps to ensure it would be prioritized. Our staff collectively acknowledges Mary is 100% ready to go when she shows up, she’s on time, invests in the box family, is consistently coachable every workout at the box, has a fantastic attitude, wants to reach her goals and is willing to take the steps necessary to get there!
Coach Jamie said, “It’s always a joy to have Mary in my classes! She’s a tough cookie, she doesn’t avoid challenges, welcomes feedback (because she wants to continue seeing results) and consistently puts in the work!” Coach Joe also had this to say about Mary, “Mary has made tremendous progress since starting CrossFit. She brings the right mix of focus and fun to every class she attends. Her hard work, consistency, and positive attitude are admirable and have allowed her to achieve amazing results. I’m very proud of Mary!”
We absolutely love having you in our 2024 family Mary and we can’t wait to see all the wonderful gains in store for you! Keep it up!

Q: How long have you been doing CrossFit?
A: 10 months
Q: Why did you originally hop on the CrossFit Express?
A: Because of COVID I knew it was super important to stay physically + mentally healthy and this was a way of making sure I did that.
Q: What motivates you to keep going and working hard?
Q: What’s your favorite movements in CrossFit?
Q: What are your long term goals?
A: To be consistently fit and healthy to the point that it’s not as much as a struggle. Professional CrossFit athletes here I come lol
Q: What’s your biggest accomplishment since joining 2024?
A: Strict pull-ups
Q: What’s one hidden talent you have or interesting fact about you?
A: I played basketball in high school. I was team captain my senior year and lettered. I also coached freshman girls basketball team and we went undefeated!
Q: Favorite movie?
A: Anything that is a British film. Rom coms!
Q: Favorite coffee/lunch/dinner spot in ATX?
A: Coffee: Radio Coffee + Beer, Lunch: Mour Cafe, Dinner: Loro
Q: What’s one item on your bucket list?
A: Travel to Barcelona, Spain
Q: Favorite Cheat Meal?
A: Pizza and a beer
Q: What are you looking forward to the remainder of this year?
A: Beach trips and of course making head way at the gym!
Q: What’s something you’d say to someone considering joining CrossFit for the first time?
A: I’d say to give it a shot! For some reason there’s some stigma out there about CrossFit sometimes but once you get in it’s the best experience. The support that you get with the coaches and fellow CrossFit athletes at the gym is honestly the best support you can get! CrossFit has something for everybody and at every level. Just show up and the rest will fall into play.
