Let’s hear it for our June AOTM…Daron!!!
We couldn’t be more proud to announce that Daron is our June athlete of the month! Just like he says he will do, Daron shows up to CrossFit 5 times a week no matter what and while he may hate some of the workouts, he always gives his all and encourages others in the process. If there was a most improved athlete, Daron would definitely receive that award too.
Coach Jared says, “It’s really cool to see how Daron has improved since he started with us. I mean this dude went from rarely ever working out to deadlifting 225 in the Open in just a matter of months. Every time Daron walks through the door, I look forward to coaching the class. I can always tell he is pushing himself and has a positive attitude about everything when he’s done.”
We love having you in our 2024 family Daron and we can’t wait to see all the wonderful PRs in store for you in the future! Keep it up!

Q: How long have you been doing CrossFit?
A: A little over 9 months
Q: Why did you originally hop on the CrossFit Express?
A: I just wanted to try something different which involved some running
Q: What motivates you to keep going and working hard?
A: The coach yelling it’s going to be an easy day everyday. On a serious note, seeing the amazing things people do day in and out, and thinking to myself maybe I can also do this in the future
Q: What’s your favorite movements in CrossFit?
A: Cleans and deadlift
Q: What are your long term goals (in fitness or life)?
A: Haven’t thought about this much. Being a better version than I was yesterday
Q: What’s your biggest accomplishment since joining 2024?
A: competing in CrossFit games (Open)
Q: Who is someone that inspires you at the box and why?
A: The coach sets the tone, and rest of community within the gym as they continue to improve everyday, pushes me as well
Q: What’s one hidden talent you have or interesting fact about you?
A: I have done rim to rim hike in grand canyon 2 times

A: the usual suspects
Q: Favorite coffee/lunch/dinner spot in ATX?
A: Highland bbq
Q: What’s one item on your bucket list?
A: sky diving

A: fried chicken
Q: What are you looking forward to the most in 2022?
A: that I will one day be able to do a muscle up
Q: What’s something you’d say to someone considering joining CrossFit for the first time?
A: just give it a try. If you can push yourself through first week, then it becomes a lot more fun and you will meet a lot of awesome people
