March 2022 Athlete of the Month – Fahad

Let’s hear it for our March AOTM…. Fahad!!!

Fahad jump started his CrossFit journey back in August of 2021 and has been crushing WODs ever since! He is an awesome athlete and always works so hard to reach his goals! Fahad loves working hard in the gym to some EDM mixes to keep him hyped.

Coach Jared and Jamie both agreed that, “Fahad has been really fun to watch in classes over the last few months. Something clicked recently in Fahad that made it obvious he is out to accomplish his goals. I suddenly just saw him pushing himself harder than he ever has. It was really cool to see the push and how much he’s improved over the last few months.”

We love having you in our 2024 family Fahad and we can’t wait to see all the wonderful gains in store for you! Keep it up!

Here are some fun facts about Fahad:

Q: How long have you been doing CrossFit?
A:  8 months

Q: Why did you originally hop on the CrossFit Express?
A: I was looking for something different than a traditional gym. I was
new to Austin and wanted to find ways to meet new people.

Q: What motivates you to keep going and working hard?
A: Being able to see improvements over time. Being encouraged by the
other members of 2024

Q: What’s your favorite movements in CrossFit?
A: The boat party, getting my first double under

Q: What are your long term goals (in fitness or life)?
A:  I want to be stronger and have more endurance. Nothing too
specific, just to generally stay healthy.

Q: What’s your biggest accomplishment since joining 2024?
A: Hitting a 235 one rep max for deadlifts

Q: Who is someone that inspires you at the box and why?
A: David Vega – he’s always super friendly to everyone at the box and
puts 100% into every workout

Q: What’s one hidden talent you have or interesting fact about you?
A: I spend most of my weekends at concerts and festivals

Q: Favorite movie?
A: Star Wars

Q: Favorite coffee/lunch/dinner spot in ATX?
A: The Buzz Mill

Q: What’s one item on your bucket list?
A: Going skydiving

Q: Favorite Cheat Meal?
A: Wings

Q: What are you looking forward to the most in 2022?
A: In life – starting a new job, spending more time exploring Austin.
In crossfit – hopefully going to a competition

Q: What’s something you’d say to someone considering joining CrossFit
for the first time?
A: Stick with it for the first month. I’m not someone who enjoyed
working out and I had to force myself to come at the start but now I
find myself excited for the workout every time.
