Strawberries & Cream – Overnight Oats
Welcome to our CrossFit 2024 Nutrition Blog! YAY! We love food and trust that you do too. All the recipes you’ll see here have been personally made, taste tested and approved by our 2024 family members. Some may be first time original recipes while others passed down over the years by loved ones. We think you’ll enjoy them and lets be honest, who doesn’t love a new recipe to try? Enjoy!
Today’s submission was 2024 approved by Coach Jamie herself. This has been a recent favorite morning addition to help set herself up for success with a simple “grab and go” breakfast on her way to the box for her early morning classes. She credits this recipe/ingredient combo to Personal Trainer, Chris Powell. You can locate some of his recipes on his instagram page @realchrispowell. Bon Appétit!
Strawberries & Cream – Overnight Oats
BASE RECIPE
- 1/2 cup of oats – Quaker Oats
- 1 scoop of protein powder – Strawberries & Cream in this case, but really you can do any flavor you’d like
- 2-4 frozen whole strawberries
- 1 cup of almond milk – or whatever milk you love
SUPER SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS
- Have your 6 glass mason jars out with the caps off – 1 pint size.
2. Put 1/2 cup of Quaker Oats into each mason jar.
3. Add 1 scoop of Strawberry & Cream protein powder into each mason jar.
4. Top with 2-4 frozen whole strawberries. Chris calls these “flavor detonators!”
5. Then pour 1 cup of almond milk into each mason jar.
6. Put mason jar lids on and shake ingredients until they are well mixed. Make sure no powder is stuck on the bottom.
7. Put mason jars in the fridge for 3 hours or overnight and your all set!
FOR ALL OF THOSE ATHLETES OUT THERE TRACKING THEIR NUMBERS, CHRIS MENTIONS THESE STATS BELOW:
Each Jar will be about 350 calories | 25 g of protein | 40 something grams of carbs
More than anything, it will nourish your body for everything it needs and keep you full longer!
